Course Description:
This course is designated to identify the important role of accountant in analyzing, measuring, recording and reporting cost transaction and, in the process, created an awareness of current developments and issue in the area. Students learn to provide keys data to managers for planning and controlling, as well as costing products, services and even customers. Students also learn the cost flow in a company, recording the transactions related, adjusting the cost related transactions, reporting the cost-related activities into a production cost report especially in manufacturing company. Meanwhile, the course also focuses on how cost accounting report may help managers to make better decisions, as cost accountants are increasingly becoming integral members of company’s decision-making teams.
Course Objective :
Students will understand cost accounting cycle and the use of production cost report of organizations with various costing systems, understand the concept and theory of cost accounting and its application in the real world.
Students will understand how to use cost accounting information to support decision making process, planning process and help the management to solve the problem related to product costing and cost accumulation.
